About

Half DimeThe Liberty Seated Half Dime is an intriguing series to study and collect due to the great variety that exists within the series. During the course of the series from 1837 to 1873, significant changes to both the obverse and reverse design took place. The denomination also underwent a change in specifications, reducing the amount of silver content.

The series also offers key dates, which are extremely difficult to acquire, but remain somewhat overlooked. A unique coin also exists with the 1870-S Liberty Seated Half Dime, with just one example known to exist.

This site will provide a basic overview of the series and basic information on specifications, mintages, and key issues. We hope you enjoy learning about the series.
